Thomas Morel, R&D Director – Custom Solutions, JCDecaux

Presentation Abstract

Inventor of the Street Furniture concept in 1964, JCDecaux progressively became #1 worldwide in outdoor advertising, and continues to innovate for brands and for people, developing 3 areas of business: street furniture, transport advertising and billboard advertising. In this seminar we explore how JCDecaux uses its internal capabilities of engineering to integrate innovative technologies to help develop the business and the services.

Thomas Morel

Mr Morel is in charge of prospective and emerging technologies in order to further develop the business. His primary focus is on digital signage, interactivity, new mobility, smart city, AR/VR and retail.

Thomas Morel joined JCDecaux in October 1999 as part of the French Operations team. He was in charge of installations for rotating billboards in Paris. From 2001 to 2006 he successively managed three local agencies, including Paris, as technical director, in charge of postering, maintenance and installation, managing more than 250 people.

From 2006, Thomas joined a new activity: JCDecaux Innovate. He developed innovative tailor-made solutions for our customers, the brands but also cities, and airports.

Since 2017, he has been in charge of R1D custom solutions, and more specifically of prospective and emerging technologies, to help develop the business. Thomas, 46, is an engineer from the French Ecole ESTP, in Paris.
