BA-SID Professional Person Spotlight – Dr. Ze Yuan

Dr. Ze Yuan is currently Chief Operating Officer at UltraReality Technology, where he leads R&D in micro-LED electrical and optical modeling for AR applications and micro-display drivers development. His work focuses on advancing XR technologies through innovation in display architectures, driver ICs, and optical engines.

Previously, Dr. Yuan has worked on various self-emissive display technologies, architected panel driving and compensation algorithms for OLED displays, participated in micro-LED driver module development, and evaluated roadmaps for micro-LED displays. Earlier in his career, he has led flexible OLED panel development from concept to productization, including the world’s first foldable OLED displays.

Dr. Yuan has published in international conferences such as SID and ICDT on topics including AMOLED circuits, LTPO technology, flexible displays, and micro-LED performance. He is also an active Technical Committee Member of the Society for Information Display.

With deep expertise spanning device physics, pixel circuits, and system-level display technologies, Dr. Yuan has contributed to innovations that have shipped in products at scale, while continuing to engineer the next-generation XR displays.
