BA-SID Professional Person Spotlight – Dr. Yuyu (Paul) Li

Dr. Yuyu (Paul) Li is an Optical R&D Expert at Goertek Alpha Labs in Silicon Valley, where he develops advanced optical technologies for next-generation AR displays. His work focuses on nano-optics and metasurfaces, novel waveguide systems, and computational optical design and simulation algorithms that enhance AR system performance and enable more efficient optical architectures.

Prior to joining Goertek, Dr. Li worked at DigiLens as a Principal Optical Engineer, where he participated in multiple waveguide design efforts and developed experience in algorithm-driven optical optimization.

Dr. Li received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, where his research focused on metasurface optics and tunable metasurface devices. He holds multiple patents related to AR optical systems and has published research in nano-optics and photonic device engineering.
