BA-SID Professional Person Spotlight – Dr. Shermin Arab

Dr. Shermin Arab is a Sr Manager at Samsung Electronics with expertise spanning advanced materials, photonics, and novel sensor technologies. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC) and holds M.S. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside.

Her distinguished career includes Sr. Scientist roles at Meta Reality Labs and Apple, where she contributed to immersive technologies and the development of photonic biosensors. At PsiQuantum, she advanced photonics switches for quantum computing, and at Mojo Vision, she led microLED display characterization and packaging teams for augmented reality contact lens technology.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of photonics, sensor development, and display technologies, with a focus on enabling next-generation immersive experiences.
