BA-SID Professional Person Spotlight – Dr. Aiden (Yigang) Fang

Dr. Aiden (Yigang) Fang is a Senior Optical Engineering Program Manager at Goeroptics in Silicon Valley, where he leads program development for optical components in next-generation AR/XR eyewear, working closely with tier-1 technology partners across the AR ecosystem.

His work spans advanced light engine and eyepiece module integration for AR glasses, including multi-layer lamination (VID1/VID2, waveguide, prescription Rx, photochromic and electrochromic layers), and assembly of light engines, eyepieces, eye-tracking, and visor modules. Beyond eyewear, his experience extends to waveguide technologies and broader optical solutions across VR, automotive HUD, and consumer/industrial applications.

Aiden has been in the AR/XR industry since 2016, starting as a founding employee at Rokid R-Lab before co-founding Meteorolite, an AR startup whose lineage extends to Viture. This blend of large-company program leadership and startup founding experience gives him a distinctive end-to-end perspective on bringing AR optical products from concept to market.

Prior to entering the AR industry, Dr. Fang was a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2013–2016), where his research in physical chemistry focused on mass spectrometry and ion chemistry, including work on benzene cation formation published in PNAS.
