Dr. Sihui He – BA-SID Chair

Sihui is an active member in Bay Area SID volunteer team, helping to organize the monthly BASID seminar. She is an optical scientist in Facebook Reality Labs, developing augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) displays. She started her career in AR displays in Microsoft HoloLens, then continued in DigiLens to focus on AR waveguide design. She received her Ph.D. in optics from University of Central Florida, with her dissertation on liquid crystal-based biosensors for the detection of bile acids.

Dr. Xudong Wang – BA-SID Vice Chair

Xudong is a Sr. Scientist at Nanosys, Shoei Chemicals Inc, working on research and development of quantum dot materials in QD-OLED, QD-microLED, and QD-EL display technologies.

John L Miller  – BA-SID Treasurer

John L. Miller has served as Treasurer, Director and Secretary for BASID since 2009. His new company depthVUE is selling a high performance 4K 32” eye-tracked glassed-free 3D monitor into the professional market. He formerly worked for Shenzhen company, Photonics Crystal that developed transparent projection screen technology products based on nano-imprinted microstructures. He is also Program Manager for the International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM), contracted by SID to assist the Executive Committee in creating the new V1.3 IDMS Standard.

John has been working in the stereoscopic 3D industry for over 30 years concentrating on glasses-free 3D technology (autostereoscopy). John was Program Manager in 2014 for a Wright Patterson AFB Phase I SBIR contract titled Holographic Lightfield 3D Display Metrology. Prior to dep3D he worked at Perceptual Images in Los Gatos, CA (1988-2002) developing autostereoscopic video displays and single-lens stereo video cameras. Perceptual Images received two SBIR Phase I contracts (Army 1991 and NASA 1992). From 1991-97 John worked at Dimensional Visions Group, responsible for developing the lenticular lithographic printed products. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 1976-1980.

Bryan Chan – BA-SID Special Projects

Bryan Chan leads the Product Management and Marketing team at E Ink developing products that have shipped over 100 million units globally. With extensive experience in strategic marketing and business development, Bryan has successfully brought emerging technology to multiple markets with rapid growth in volume and revenue. Bryan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and has over 30 issued patents.

Victor Hsia – BA-SID Chair of Corporate Communications

Victor is currently working with several high-tech companies, focusing on business development, sales, and fundraising. At NS Nanotech, he leads the Biz Dev and Sales team, securing licensing deals for next-generation Group III-Nitride (InGaN) RGB nanowire LEDs, which are crucial for micro displays used in AR/XR applications. He’s also pioneering the launch and sale of the world’s first solid-state Far-UVC Emitter. In addition to his work at NS Nanotech, Victor serves as a BD Advisor for Cellid, a Japanese AR startup that is advancing DOE Wave Guides for the next generation of AR glasses.

Victor is also deeply involved in the Society for Information Display (BASID), where he currently serves as Chair of Corporate Communications for the Bay Area chapter. In this role, he helps secure speakers for the monthly BA-SID meetings, contributing to the ongoing dialogue in the display industry.

Homer Antoniadis – BA-SID Special Projects

With more than three decades of experience, Homer is an accomplished product development engineer, a forward-thinking technology leader, and an effective communicator. He has successfully managed and developed hardware products across diverse industries, including displays, lighting, consumer electronics, photovoltaics, and advanced materials. He currently leads Vermio Consulting, his own firm, making significant contributions to industry success and driving innovation. Additionally, Homer serves as a Board Advisor and Director for several startup companies.

During his tenure as the Chief Technology Officer at Nanosys, a distinguished display technology company, Homer played a pivotal role in advancing Quantum Dot and microLED technology for displays. His work has been instrumental in driving innovation and progress within the field.

Homer’s professional journey has taken him through several prominent companies, such as ISF Incubator, Kateeva, DuPont, Innovalight, Osram, HP, and Xerox, where he held various leadership positions. Additionally, he has served on numerous national and international boards, further broadening his industry knowledge and expertise.

Originally from Greece, Homer earned his Ph.D. in solid-state physics from Syracuse University. His experience in display technology covers the entire spectrum, from R&D to mass manufacturing, and encompasses various applications such as AR/VR microdisplays and large TV panels. With an extensive publication record and over 50 patents, Homer demonstrates a continuous commitment to innovation and progress in his field.
