In good BASID traditional we invite two industry experts to give us their thoughts on Display Week 2024!

Sri will give an overview of the Display Week 2024 and the display industry at large. Paul will give us his expert opinion and overview of emerging developments shared at the symposium this year including the integration of sensing and transmission into displays, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Sri Peruvemba is CEO of Marketer International Inc. Peruvemba was previously Chief Marketing Officer for E Ink, where he played a major role in transforming the startup to a $1B+ global company. With over 30 years of experience in the technology industry, Peruvemba has been an influential advocate in the advancement of electronic hardware technologies.  He is an acknowledged expert on sensors, electronic displays, touch screens, electronic materials and related technologies; and consults, writes, and presents on those subjects globally. Peruvemba has also held senior level positions at Sharp Corp, Cambrios, Novasentis, TFS Inc., Planar Systems, and Suntronic Technology. Based in Silicon Valley, Peruvemba advises high tech firms in the U.S., Canada, and Europe as well as serves on the boards of Azumo, Edgehog, Omniply, SmartKem, Visionect and WiSA Technologies. Peruvemba is a Contributing Editor for Information Display, and the recipient of SID’s Lewis and Beatrice Winner Award. He has BS and MBA degrees and a post-graduate diploma in management. Peruvemba is also a right arm off-spinner for a Cricket team he co-founded in Silicon Valley.

Paul Semenza, Professor & Chair, Engineering Management and Leadership Department at Santa Clara University

Paul Semenza is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Engineering Management and Leadership at Santa Clara University and an industry consultant. He consults in displays, flexible electronics, and advanced semiconductor packaging, and was a founder of NextFlex (a Manufacturing USA institute). Paul was an executive in display market research firms iSuppli/Stanford Resources and NPD/Displaysearch. Previously, he analyzed technology policy at the US Congress Office of Technology Assessment and the National Research Council. He has B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from TuftsUniversity, and a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
