Presentation Abstract
Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) thin film technology is uniquely suited for demanding Thin Film Encapsulation (TFE) applications in OLED displays. Encapsulation is needed to protect the devices from oxygen and moisture. ALD technology provides a robust and reliable TFE for OLEDs. We will present the latest developments in ALD for OLED encapsulation and industrial ALD solutions for OLED manufacturing.

Dr. Tommi Kääriäinen from Beneq Inc. is a Technical Sales Manager of North America. Beneq is a leading supplier of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) equipment and thin film coating services, and the world’s premier manufacturer of thin film electroluminescent displays. Dr. Kääriäinen has focused in his career on ALD technology and process development for industrial applications covering functional and protective thin films on flexible electronics, packaging, plasma-assisted ALD, and continuous and roll-to-roll ALD.
Dr. Kääriäinen received his Ph.D. in Materials Technology from the Lappeenranta University of Technology in Finland. He has been a Principal Investigator in the Laboratory of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Helsinki Finland awarded by Academy of Finland, and a visiting research scientist at the University of Colorado Boulder.
