Title: Display Week 2013 Recap: What did you miss in Vancouver?
Abstract: If you weren’t able to make the cross-country trip to Vancouver for SID Display Week 2013 last month, here’s your opportunity to catch up on much of what you missed. Two excellent and reputed speakers will be sharing in-depth coverage on the latest and greatest from Display week 2013.
Clay Shepherd, Senior Principal Analyst , IHS, will review selected highlights and themes from the Keynote Addresses, International Symposium and Exhibition and the popular i-Zone at Display Week 2013. The talk will also cover important trends and progress in value-added LCD displays, OLED & E-paper displays, as well as recent developments in emerging or next-generation display technologies such as IGZO TFT arrays, flexible displays and quantum dots.
Geoff Walker, Senior Touch Technologist, Intel, in his talk will cover the highlights of touch-technology news from Display Week 2013, starting with touch-module and touch-materials exhibits on the show floor. Selected information from the touch presentations in the Monday Seminars, the Tuesday Exhibitor’s Forum, and the Wednesday Touch-Gesture-Motion conference will also be included.

Speaker 1 Biography: Clay Shepherd is the Senior Principal Analyst for Displays at IHS. Clay has previously worked in Japan with Hitachi Central Research Laboratory and Tokyo Electron Ltd. His has also had stints at international corporations including Applied Materials, Seiko Epson Corporation and Philips N.V., components division, where he worked as manager for display manufacturing technology to improve manufacturing operations and evaluate business opportunities for new-display technologies. Clay has also worked with Cambridge Display Technology (CDT) to promote the development and licensing of its OLED technology in Asia.
Since 2011, he has worked as a part-time professor at Yamagata University’s Research Center for Organic Electronics (ROEL) in Japan.
Speaker 2 Biography: Geoff Walker is a recognized touch-technology expert with 20+ years of experience in touch. Geoff is currently the Senior Touch Technologist at Intel. Previously Geoff served as Owner and Principal Consultant at Walker Mobile, Marketing Evangelist & Touch-Industry Guru at NextWindow, Global Director of Product Management and Business Development at Elo TouchSystems, Director of Engineering Program Management at Handspring, and Product Architect & Vice President of Marketing at Fujitsu Personal Systems. Geoff has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. in English from Polytechnic Institute of New York University, as well as all the coursework for an MBA in Marketing from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
