Dr. Seung Ho Yang

Dr. Seung Ho Yang received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from the Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. From 1991 to 1998, he was with Samsung, Korea. From 1996 to 2002, he was with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). From 2003 to 2011, He was with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST, Gaithersburg, MD). From 2012 to 2017, he was a staff engineer at SEAGATE Technology working on Technology Staging. He is currently a Director in Open Innovation Part at LG Display working on Technology Sensing and Technology Scouting.

Dr. Yang’s main fields of expertise covers Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, Electric Engineering , MEMS and Display Technology. His selected career paths are: Open Innovation, Technology Staring, Engineering, Research and Biz Development.

He has been a Reviewer of peer-reviewed journals, including Nanotechnology, Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, Measurement Science and Technology, Journal of Physics D, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A, and Sensors and Actuators A. He is the author of 74 peer-reviewed papers and six patents. Dr. Yang is a member of SID and an Affiliated Member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). He received the bronze medal for Samsung’s New Technology Award in 1996 and the KIST Academic Excellence Award in 2002. He received a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Korean Government (Korean Science and Engineering Foundation) in 2002.
