Bruce Craig

Bruce is President of BBC LG Consulting, an independent technology and management consultancy focused on early stage and small/medium-sized companies in the broad area of lasers and photonics. He brings over 40 years of experience in general management, business development, marketing, sales, and R&D to drive successful outcomes for his client base, which ranges from early stage startups to large corporations. His current engagements include executive advisory roles to Exalos, a Swiss company active in the field of superluminescent LEDs and visible laser diodes (LDs) for AR smart glasses and head mounted displays, Calmar Laser, an ultrafast fiber laser company and Swift Control Systems, a developer of intelligent optomechanics.

His interest and involvement in the display industry range from laser manufacturing/annealing processes to early stage high power RGB laser sources for digital cinema, to LD/LED-phosphor based architectures for projection applications, to novel near-to-eye displays.

Bruce has held a number of executive roles, including President of Spectra-Physics Lasers and Executive VP at Newport Corporation (now part of MKS Instruments), VP of the Optical Sector of Thermo Electron Corporation (now Thermo Fisher Scientific) and CEO/co-founder of Laser Biopsy.

Bruce has a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Manchester, UK, and held post doctoral and staff positions at the University of Texas, Austin and Georgetown University, Washington DC. He is an alumnus of the AEA Executive Institute/mini MBA program at Stanford University and the Thermo Electron Global Leadership program at Babson College.
